Upper Mount Hope is filled with eager college students and recent graduates of the University of Rochester, conveniently located in the heart of this neighborhood. 

On the West side of the neighborhood sits Genesee Valley Park, a green space designed by Frederick Law Olmsted that includes tennis courts, sports fields, ice skating rinks and golf courses. Residents can enjoy the natural beauty of Genesee Valley and walk alongside the Erie Canal and Genesee River in this curated sanctuary. 

On the East side of the neighborhood, visitors can explore another project of Frederick Law Olmsted, Rochester’s famous Highland Park. In the springtime, lilacs and magnolia trees light up the park’s pathways and attract thousands of tourists from across the United States to the annual Lilac Festival.
