The Lyell-Otis neighborhood has been the home of thousands of longtime Rochesterians for over a century. The area is easily accessible from downtown, and allows residents who work in the heart of the city to commute via bike or bus. 

Lyell Avenue has several stores, restaurants and businesses for homeowners to explore. The rich history of the neighborhood was recently preserved in a DVD titled “The History of Lyell-Otis,” in which aging residents shared an oral history of the area.
