The residents of Homestead Heights take pride in the aesthetics of the area. In the summer months, volunteers maintain flower pots and city gardens throughout the neighborhood. Residents come together once a year for an annual Summer Block Party, building a sense of belonging for longtime community members and newcomers alike.
The area is home to several historic businesses, including Fioravanti Florist, founded in 1920, and Savoia Pastry, a deli and pastry shop founded in 1929.
